You'll notice that each era begins with a map hand drawn map from a local cartographer. The cartographer included ONLY places, routes, cities, etc. that were specifically mentioned within the AP World History curriculum. This is a graphic representation of the era.

Many factors, including the climate and location of the routes, the typical trade goods, and the ethnicity of people involved, shaped the distinctive features of a variety of trade routes.
